At Rent Galah, we are committed to ensuring the safety of all users and preventing misuse of our platform, particularly with respect to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Although our app is focused on property transparency and not targeted at children, we take all safety concerns seriously and have implemented the following measures:

Rent Galah is an information-sharing platform for residential rental properties. Users can post public messages and images tied to specific properties to increase transparency for renters, landlords, and property managers. This open dialogue helps maintain accountability and fairness.

  • Content in public streams is viewable by any registered user.
  • Content in private streams is only visible to members of the group.
  • Users can flag any message or image for review, including suspected CSAE content or behavior.
  • Flagged content is promptly reviewed by a human moderator.
  • Violations result in content removal and potential suspension or banning of offending accounts.

3. Direct Messaging Safeguards

  • Private messaging between users is available.
  • The same “flag” tool applies to private messages.
  • Reported messages are reviewed by our moderation team, and appropriate action is taken immediately.

4. User Information

  • We collect only an email address and a username at signup.
  • The email address is not publicly visible and is used solely for login and account recovery.
  • Usernames are not required to be real names and are the only identifier visible to others.

5. Child Access & Interest

  • Rent Galah does not target or appeal to children.
  • The content—rental property issues—is not designed for minors.
  • No age-restricted features are implemented.

6. Reporting CSAE

  • We comply with all relevant laws regarding the reporting of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
  • Any suspected CSAM is reported to appropriate national and regional authorities.
  • We collaborate with law enforcement and NGOs to ensure user safety.
